Hi!!  Welcome to FBC Alpine.  I am so excited you are finding me here! I was raised in Levelland, Texas (also called the "Dirt"). I was raised in a Baptist home and my mom taught me how to read and study the Bible.  I am so thankful for her witness and how she loved the Lord.  One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.  I have seen in my own life that the prayers of my mother and the way she trained me have made me who I am today.

A little more about me, I was married for 18 years and out of that marriage God gave me 3 amazing kids!  Kristin (18) a senior here at AHS, Matthew (16) a sophomore at AHS, and Levi (10) a 4th grader here at AES. I work full-time @ Sul Ross State University and part-time here.  I am also a student at SRSU finishing my bachelor's degree and then on to my master's.  I have lived in Alpine for 1.5 years, we will be here 2 years in June.  When we first came to Alpine, I saw a banner on the side of the church about VBS, I wanted to meet people so we just jumped in feet first.

I am living proof that God uses broken people to further His kingdom. I am sure you have a story much like mine and how God has used you for some purpose you never imagined.  This family at FBC has such a huge heart, they have held me up and been in the trenches praying for me during one of the hardest years of my life.

Jeremiah 29:11 is one of those verses that gets "used" a lot, but make no mistake...God knows the plans He has for me (and for you) and I have seen first hand how he has prospered me and given me a hope for my future.  I want to leave you with James 1:2-4, Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. This life we live is not easy and I encourage you to find a family here, if you are thinking about visiting or joining don't hesitate, just jump in!  I can't wait to meet you!
